More Than First Impressions

People often assume they already know what I am going to be like when they meet me, before we actually meet. I suppose that is understandable. They see my social media, read my website, perhaps a few messages have been exchanged, and they then begin to build a picture in their minds of who Madame Lockwood is. Then, when they arrive, we have a conversation and they suddenly realise............ I'm just me.

I'm not sure why, but for some that seems to come as a complete but pleasant surprise.

I have never understood why. Being a professional Dominatrix does not mean I have to spend every waking moment looking intimidating or speaking in commands. A session with me does not begin the second you walk through the door.

We talk and go over your application, discuss anything that needs to be clarified and make sure we're both comfortable before we begin.

That conversation is not separate from your experience. It is part of it. Building the trust that is required before any genuine power exchange can take place in my dungeon.

It is my opinion that people sometimes confuse confidence with performance. They are not the same thing. Anyone can try or be dominant for an hour or two, but that is very different from quietly knowing who you are and being comfortable in your own skin.

I have never felt the need to exaggerate my personality or become someone else, simply because I am working. If you speak to me online, you will meet exactly the same person in my dungeon. The clothes may be different, and once the session begins my focus naturally shifts, but I am still my unique self.

Maybe that's why I enjoy meeting complete beginners as much as experienced submissivies' I do not expect anyone to arrive knowing everything. and I certainly don't expect people to know me or how I work after reading a few pages on my website or social media.

Each individual that walks or crawls through my dungeon door is different and every session starts with understanding the person standing or kneeling in front of me, rather than making assumptions about who they are and what they really want or need from me.

I have lost count of the number of people who have told me after sessions, that I was not as they expected. They usually say it with a smile and I take it as a compliment.

Not because they expected any less, but because they expected someone less human. They expected distance but they found conversation. A performance but instead they found authenticity. My authority was always there, it just didn't need to be announced or shown every few minutes as a reminder.

At the end of the day, I do not believe trust is built through pretending to be something or someone you are not.

I believe that it is built through honesty , consistency and understanding. My standards are high, my expectations are clear and I will not apologise for either of those facts. None of it stops me from being approachable, patient or genuinely interested in the people I meet.

So if you have ever wondered whether the woman behind the photos and words on a screen is different from the person you might get to meet, the answer is very simple.

Because first impressions only ever tell part of the story.
